O, Death
O, Death
Won’t you spare me over til another year
Well what is this that I can’t see
With ice cold hands takin’ hold of me
Well I am death, none can excel
I’ll open the door to heaven or hell~
A tragic tale of romance, passion, & a 𝓶𝓾𝓻𝓭𝒆𝓻 most foul...Hit it boys. The Corpse Bride so famously known, wasn't always the breathless beauty she is recognized as. In life, Emily Rigby was forced to behave with reserve & proper manners. This was not how she desired living. A spirited child transformed into a gorgeous young woman, giving up her freedom as price. She chose rebellion; sneaking out at night to visit the town square, adventuring into the woods to pick flowers, ANYTHING to escape the restrictions her high class parents pressed on her.On a normal day, free from the view of her parents, Emily met a stranger. A tall man, mysterious & charming. Emily found him to be quite good looking, & to her luck he was caught by her as well. Their conversance turned into a impulsive romance. Her pure, compassionate heart ignored the man's poverty, loving him for his temperment. Excitement fills her to the brim when she tells her father of her new love, who instantly refuses to see them together. A heart broken maiden, she runs to her love, explaining her father's dissaproval past enthusiastic sobs. Her beau is unphased, instead he proposes to the girl, requesting they elope in secret. With elated reponse she agrees, as well as bringing along a collection of family riches to their wedding without question ... The bride to be arrives at their destination; an abandoned graveyard with an eerie dead oak tree. She shivers, much of her skin exposed, wearing her mother's wedding dress as this was all she had. Oh but it fit her perfectly, & she never looked more beautiful. Along with this she is decorated with family jewels, displaying her almost as a princess. A bag of gold sits with her boquet; just enough to give them a living anywhere else. She waits, on a dark foggy night at a quarter till three, she was ready to go ... but where was he ? & then ... she waited ... & then ? ... there in the shadows ... was it her man ? & then ? ... a little heart beat so loud ! & then ? ... & then, baby ... everything. went. B L A C K When the bride opens her eyes, a horror is displayed before her. A once beating heart, previously thumping with anticipation, excitement, fear, had s t o p p e d. The jewelry worn around her body were missing, along with her gold. Reality struck the bride like a blade; she was dead. A still heart now broken, the bride mourns for her lost life, innocence & trust now fooled with. Time passes, as does the pain of her grief, but not all gone. Her soul still stayed on this Earth, unfulfilled & burdened with regret. She wanted love, to marry & finally find happiness. So she made a vow lying under that tree, to wait for her true love to come set her free. Now she waits for someone to ask for her hand, to help mend her heart broken by another man. Someone who will vow forever, to be by her side & that's the story of our Corpse Bride. Gallery

Interactions in this verse can be with a muse alive or dead, but they will always take place in the Land of the Dead. v. according to plan; Time Period: Victorian Era >This verse follows the plot of the movie. Emily and Victor are “married” thanks to his vows rehearsal in the woods. Events in this verse can alter from the movie if decided, and I prefer to keep this verse exclusive to Corpse Bride characters only for now.v. rosy cheeks; Time Period: Victorian Era Prior to the movie, Emily is a living beauty confined by her family’s strict rules. She’s granted little freedom, resulting in rebellious behavior on her part. In this verse, she has either met Barkis already or has yet to meet him at all. v. beating heart; Time period: Modern Day Emily is a 19 year old college student studying English literature with an additional interest in the occult. She’s a tad irresponsible, growing up depending on her parent’s wealth, but she is fun and adventurous. |
